What Does My Dancer Wear
We have a specific dress code for each class level. These are purchased through our online ordering site. All items match so that we can use these for informal performances, parent showcase and winter recital.
Do You Offer Performances
Yes! We offer multiple, age-appropriate performance opportunities. We believe that performing helps dancers grow both technically and personally- and it's a magical moment for families to see their child shine. Whether that is just getting on stage or dancing a routine flawlessly.
Here's What We offer:
-
Winter Showcase- A Gentle introduction to performing, often themed around seasonal favorites like Snow/Frozen; Land of Sweets, or Nutcracker-inspired scenes. Dancers wear their class specific dress code attire keeping costs lower.
-
Spring Recital Gala- In the spring we hold our celebratory show focused around a theme with costumes, medals, goodie bags and souvenir program books.
-
Performance Team & Community Events - Throughout the year our dancers are invited to perform at other events to develop that love of performing and self confidence.
If performing isn't for you, that's okay! Students are welcome to opt out- no pressure, no obligation!

How Do I Know What Class to Choose?
We are here to make sure you dancer finds that perfect fit! Classes at La Petite School of Dance are grouped by age, skill level, and dance style, so every child can learn and grow in the right environment.
-
By AGE: We have a recommended age range for classes. There are some ages that overlap two age groups. If your child hasn't reached that age at the start of the dance season we usually recommend to go with the younger option. With that said if a Little Stars class has all 3 year olds an older two who turns 2 within a few months of the start of class may be fine in that class. However, if that class has all 4 year olds that would be different. So feel free to reach out to us if you are in this category.
-
By Experience: New to dance? Our beginner and introductory classes are designed to make first time dancers feel confident. Classes that are listed as Intermediate level these classes are for dancers who have danced multiple years.
-
By INTEREST: Our youngest dancers are taught a combo class that develops all the movement and music skills needed as they grow. As dancers get older we offer ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, pom dance, and acro so that dancers can learn the specific skills for each of these genres. In addition, we offer huge discounts for multiple classes so dancers don't have to choose if they like it all.
If you are unsure, we offer a Free Trial Week so that your child can try different class to see where they are the happiest. Also you can always text or message us for help.
Do You Offer Trials?
Yes. We do offer trials, but we recommend enrolling for one month, some dancers need a few classes to feel comfortable. If after the month it is not a good fit, you can unenroll.
We have shoes you can borrow while trying the class out.
What are your Sessions
Our Dance Studio offers year round classes that follow the school year to help dancers reach their dance goals. We are a firm believer that dance and acro are skills that need consistency. With consistency in attending our sessions, dancers muscles will be trained and strengthened while they learn and grow in their dancing journey. We have found that young dancers learn faster, have more fun, and are less apprehensive when they consistently attend. If a class time isn't working for you, contact us we may have space in another, or in the process of adding more classes.
What are you Class Sizes
There are optimal class sizes to learn dance. We believe that to be between 8 and 15 dancers depending on the age and levels of the dancers. Activities that aid in the development of spatial awareness, interpersonal skills and self-awareness are developed in these larger groups.
Full attendance in classes occur about 35 to 40% of the time so small classes with 4 or fewer could have weeks with only 2 in class or even 1! So because of this reason, we reserve the right to combine class that have low enrollment to create optimal class sizes.
