Shooting Stars Dance

Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Acro, Hip Hop Classes

Ages 9  and Up

Little Stars is our dance and movement program for young children. Classes are designed to introduce dance, movement, music and creative drama in an age and developmentally appropriate way.  Fun themes and creative activities allow our young dancers to learn about spatial awareness, taking turns, listening skills, patterning, and more.  The registration includes a personal prop bag, with items we use in class (scarf, star wand, ribbon, sparkle teddy.)  Even though we are very creative, dancers also learn the proper name of dance steps.  For example they learn what plies and shuffles are.  The classes are 30 to 45 minutes long depending on age and level.

The Rising Stars classes are combo classes for the elementary aged dancer.  Grouped by both age and level, dancers explore both dance technique skills and performance skills.

In our classes, we continue to explore dance through creative themes and fun choreographic exercises.

Dancers are taught the proper terminology and technique in a progressive manner to ensure proper technique and safe muscle development.

Classes are offered as Ballet and Tap

or  Ballet and Jazz

with an Acro option.

The Shooting stars level is for ages 9 and up.  These are separate classes held back to back so that dancers can enroll in a single class or multiple classes.  Classes are segmented into level categories.  Depending on their skill set, they may overlap levels.  Number of years dancing is not the deciding factor for the Silver, Gold and Platinum levels.  Also, some class offerings may be open to multiple levels.

Shooting Stars Bronze is for the beginner to dancers with limited dance experience.

Shooting Stars Silver is for the dancer who has years of dance in the style they are enrolling in.

Shooting Stars Gold is for the dancer who has danced for multiple years and have a good grasp of the technique and skills in the dance style they are enrolling in.  Skills for gold would be double/triple pirouettes, travelling time step, pull backs, grande jetes.

Shooting Stars Platinum is for the advanced dancer.  These dancers can do turns en lair a la seconde; grab offs, calypso leaps, illusions, aerials, etc.
